Three Decades and Counting
Our guest, Page Dickey, is a garden writer, lecturer, designer and author of the popular book Duck Hill Journal: A Year in a Country Garden. She has followed up that work with a new one coming out this month, Embroidered Ground: Revisiting the Garden.
Page shares knowledge learned by experience through 30 years at Duck Hill, traveling to renowned gardens around the world, visiting and interviewing talented designers. She also addresses the realities of getting older and dealing with that reality.
Join us for a chat about all of these things. Page’s compilation of delightfully written essays feels like a visit with a wise friend sitting across the kitchen table, in the sunshine, with a view of the garden. The new book is filled with illustrations by William Atherton.

Fabulous show, Ken. Wow – Paige Dickey sounds amazing. I’m going to have to get her books!
I always love the shows about woody plants. Ans being as I’ve been facing many poor choices I made along the way – It was heartening and encouraging to hear from real veterans that sometimes even they just let impulses happen, or have planted too close together and what not.
-And best of all – “Plant that tree! Go ahead and do it.” – Yippee.
