This week’s guest is Chris Beytes, Editor and Publisher of GrowerTalks and Green Profit magazine and contributing editor of FloraCulture International. He has 27 years experience in the floriculture — ornamental plant — industry, including nine years running his own wholesale nursery in Central Florida and 17 years with Ball Publishing.
Chris travels extensively in North America and around the world, reporting on the latest in greenhouse and garden center trends, innovations and ideas. We talk about the state of the retail industry and the wholesale growers – the present and possible future. This fall and probably next spring will be great times for the buying public. Prices are as low as they have been for decades, even though everything else – energy, transportation, etc. – has gone way up.

I’m a lifetime gardener who now likes to write about it in my own amateur way, and just wanted to comment how much I enjoyed this podcast.
It has given me plenty to think about, and the attitude of presenting gardening realistically (as more than “easy and instant”) hooked me right into the conversation.
I’ve enjoyed your books, but now your thoughtful way of expressing things in podcast form really has made me a fan.
