Gold Diggers
On this week’s edition of the
radio show/podcast, I visit with Margaret Roach, former Editor-in-Chief of
Martha Stewart Living, and producer of one of the most popular blogs on the web
– awaytogarden.com. Margaret and I talk about garden touring, and also about
one of our passions – plants with golden foliage. We know that chartreuse is
the true color of spring, with new leaves glowing on the trees and shrubs in the
garden. But plants with golden foliage light up the garden throughout the
growing season. I made a list of golden plants in my garden, and Margaret has a
slide show of some that were especially showy this spring. Margaret also
previews her next book, a memoir, on the blog.
A view of some chartreuse plants in my gravel
garden in New Jersey is shown in the photograph, above. If you’d like to get the
list of some of our favorite shining foliage plants, send an email request to
kendruserealdirt@yahoo.com. (Please put “gold plant list” in the subject line.)

Absolutely stunning! I love your photography! You could make a mediocre garden look good and a great garden look spectacular!
Are you Merlin and you work your magic or just a renaissance
man? Either way everyone should enjoy your site.
