At the end of 2019, my second book made with the artist photographer Ellen Hoverkamp came out. It’s The Scentual Garden: Exploring the World of Botanical Fragrance. Ellen makes photographs not with a camera, but on a flatbed scanner (with the top taken off and in a dimly lit room). You can find out more about Ellen on her website and even buy some of her magnificent prints made on archival paper that will not fade. They are perfect for hanging on walls.
Below are a couple of Ellen’s images from the last book. Can you imagine one four feet tall? Enjoy this little gallery. And check out our book, which we hope will flow back into stock after being sold out on Amazon — thanks to Margaret Roach who wrote about the book in her new column in The New York Times.
BELOW: Heirloom roses; heritage peonies; Echinacea hybrids; Agastache varieties; Vanilla orchid; Epiphyllum oxypetalum, the night-blooming cereus.
