The fifth printing of my book filled with gorgeous botanical photographs by Ellen Hoverkamp and garden shots by me just arrived. Thank goodness. The book was unavailable for a little while. It’s great that we will have copies for my lecture on Natural Companions at Dow Gardens in Midland, Michigan on February 17.

The scan to the left is of the night blooming cereus, Epiphyllum oxypetalum, also called “Queen of the Night,” a jungle cactus from Central America.
Below left, is an incredible mix of two large lavender pink peonies and the taller rare Nectaroscordum with dangling pink bells and the pom poms of Viburnum plicatum f. plicatum ‘Rosace’ . To the right of that is a grouping of fern species and the variegated Japanese Solomon’s Seal, most often seen with the Latin name Polygonatum odoratum ‘Variegatum’, but may also be found by a number of synonyms.
