We’ve visited
Louis Bauer in the past to talk mostly about general gardening issues. He is
the director of horticulture for an early-twentieth-century estate in Short
Hills, NJ that is soon to be a public garden. On this week’s show, we talk
about the progress in the preparation of Greenwood Gardens for opening to
visitors in April, 2013.
Preserving the
architecture, including the wonderful Arts & Crafts out-buildings
(two-story teahouse, above), and
modernizing the infrastructure are obvious undertakings. Making a garden in a
place that didn’t have a strong original horticultural history has been an
exciting challenge.
Listen to the show now, and plan a visit to Greenwood Gardens next
spring.
